My initial idea for Schrodinger centred around the idea of anxiety, more specifically thinking either the absolute worst or the absolute best of a situation and how both are inherently flawed. It is always good to sometimes be optimistic or pessimistic about a situation but there is such a thing as taking it too far. Which is what Erwin (the main character) finds himself doing to the point that it quite literally rips him in two. This idea of being in two states at once is what led to me to Schrodinger in the first place. That idea of being in two states at once really seemed to fit the overall themes I was hoping to convey. Also, what influenced the ending. Yes, you may be dead, and you may be alive and the possibility of either can be terrifying, but you’ll never know unless you see. You must open the box; the cat is waiting.
