For my project I have decided to shoot at an abandoned school. I chose to do this as I have always loved exploring, and experiencing the haunting feeling of walking through an old, abandoned, building. Another reason why I decided to shoot here is because I have a dark and gothic style and I’m intrigued by those which are old, run down, and deteriorated. With my photos, I want to evoke the stories and memories of its past pupils, bringing a sense of nostalgia to the people of Derry. I want to target students, teachers, other photographers, and anyone else who is interested in learning about and viewing Urban Decay photography, what it has to offer, or just want to become more aware of this type of photography so that they can recognise it in their surroundings.
