A recurring theme in my design process is the draw towards occasional wear, designing the epitome of feminine fashion. My granny constantly inspires me, she paved her own path in a time of strict female control, a time when female curves were celebrated and a women’s key roles did not venture much beyond being a homemaker, wife or mother. The initial design inspiration started with family photographs from when she was in her mid 20’s during the 1950’s and 60’s. She will be celebrating her 99th birthday in June this year. The aim of the collection is to celebrate the female form, of all shapes and sizes. I want to create garments that outlast trends and remain forever relevant, garments that are timeless and elegant to be worn again, and again.
