Death has always had an unwelcome and upsetting effect on people–grieving, forgetting and separation. My aim in this project is to try to look at things in a positive light and focus on connecting, remembering and making a person glad that they can relive their loved one’s memories. After is an application that will allow a person that is thinking about arranging their funeral plans and wanting to store all the precious memories of themselves. After can make the struggle of death a little bit easier. After can also link with other electronic devices to showcase the memories, such an Apple Watch and Holostone. Holostone will be the new 'gravestone' of the future, it is a holographic interactive display for your loved one's information and memories.

This project explores the concept of Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities. The short stories go through the journey of Marco Polo’s adventures from Italy to China–he is a merchant and is traveling to China for trade. He then becomes a prisoner of Emperor Kublai Khan in Mongolia and had the opportunity to tell his tales of his journey through expressing his view of the cities. I had taken this concept and reimagined the tales in an innovative and creative way - the cities and tales connect directly with Marco Polo because all of these imaginative cities were a connection to his brain. I created three separate chapters with 5 cities in each chapter–they progress through his mind and journey to China and show the connection with each city, chapter and his brain. Chapter one being City and Signs, which told through the journey of Marco Polo's caution and the troubles he had at the beginning of the journey. Chapter two focuses on City and Eyes, which explores the clarity and ease he began to have in the journey. Finally Chapter 3 focuses on City and Memory, where Marco Polo relives and tries to remember the memories he had so that he can explain them to Kublai Khan.
