I took my design inspiration from the Northern Ireland troubles. I chose this theme as it impacted the lives of many people during the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s and beyond. My grandparents live on the border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, so I grew up listening to the stories of their experience of this part of Irish history. The inspiration of the conflict intertwined with influence from fashion, art, sculpture and architecture have informed a collection that focuses on distinctive sculptural 3D shapes and an explosive raw finish. Sustainability is central to my brand, so my range works with circular design through upcycling preloved denim to present a range of distinctive garment designs.
