The strongest inspiration for all my creative ventures seems to come directly from my immediate environment, stories told and passed down from relatives and the challenge of taking historical references and developing them into wearable fashion. With regards to this current collection, entitled ‘Foresight’, family photo albums dating back to the 60s and fashion styles worn in Derry at that time presented inspiration for the design development process. Both prints have been designed using images of Bernadette Devlin, as I grew up familiar with her story and find her to be heavily inspiring to young Irish women. Her bravery and courage mirror the ethos of the brand, which promotes strength in femininity.
