My collection is entitled ‘Zenith’ which is the point in the sky or celestial sphere directly above an observer. My inspiration stems from my interest in cinema and art. I am a fan of Sci-Fi, especially the aesthetic, a mix between utilitarian comfort wear with historical regalia and military uniform; as well as the themes that are explored: What is it to be human? Can humanity and technology coalesce? The importance of nature and the natural world in an increasingly sterile environment. The vast endlessness of space and humanity’s desire to explore. At what point is an artificial construct deemed human? My collection is made from curtain fabrics, upholstery and garments sourced in charity shops.
